My goal is to help youth be successful. I work with educators and community agencies to provide emotional intelligence to youth.
As an experienced life coach and professionally trained counselor, I have developed the tools and understanding to work with youth on identifying their feelings and creating a toolbox of healthy coping skills.
I work in collaboration with school staff and agency personnel to identify obstacles that prevent their youth from achieving success. Through a series of workshops, I then work with these students to build their emotional intelligence to have healthy social skills.
Jacqueline Mahoney, MSW, has a master's degree in social work, and training in life coaching. After almost 20 years as a Social Worker in educational institutions and community agencies, she continues her quest to help as many young people as possible to identify their feelings, honor those feelings, let go of self-harming/self-destructive behaviors and take on healthy coping skills that are easily utilized. Through her SEI/SEL coaching practice, Coach Jackie moves youth away from the screen and into their hearts. Starting in New York City, then practicing in Arizona, California, Florida and abroad, Coach Jackie shares her experience and expertise in collaboration with other youth workers to present material to youth and parents to gain emotional self-awareness and utilize healthy coping skills to be successful on whatever path they choose.

Through a series of workshops students will work on developing emotional self-awareness, learning to name their feelings, and subsequently developing a toolbox of healthy coping skills.
Through years of research, it has been proven that emotional awareness improves social competency. Social competency leads to healthy relationships and improves academic performance. There is a decline in anxiety, behavior problems, and substance use with long-term improvements in skills, attitudes, and prosocial behavior.
There will be immediate results once completing a packaged program. Long-term results depend on continued use of the tools and support of adults. Caregiver programs are available to train caregivers on how to support youth efforts in engaging in healthy coping skills.
